Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) systems design

Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) systems use mirrors or lenses to concentrate a large area of sunlight onto a small photovoltaic receiver. The CPV systems are good solution for reduction of high cost of PV solar energy systems. To design a cost-effective concentrated PV systems the special computer program CPV-CAD (Concentrated Photovoltaic Computer Aided Design) and different versions of PVCsyst are developed.

CPV-CAD

CPV-CAD is a software for cost optimization and automated design of solar concentrating photovoltaic systems. The multiparameter cost optimization method is used. For more information go to the www.cpvcad.com.


CPV-CAD allows to:

- determine the optimal concentration rate and focus distance, which provide the minimum price of a mirror reflecting linear focus CPV system;

- realize the economical analysis and to define the income per year, payback time, etc.;

- analyze the distribution of prices of different parts of a designed CPV system

- get all necessary working drawings of CPV system.
