Hybrid Photovoltaic and Thermal (PVT) system

The hybrid PVT systems are more efficient than the separate PV and thermal panels.

As our system is hybrid, it generates two energies – electrical and thermal energy.

The total efficiency of this system is very high, approximately 65% (15% - electricity and 50% - thermal). It means that the 650 W of standard solar radiation of 1000 W/m2 will be used by PVT system.

Our new PVT system has several advantages in comparison with other existing ones. It can be used for generation of electric and thermal energies for different needs. Particularly these systems can be used for electricity and hot water supply by home owners, hotels, schools, hospitals and for different needs in rural and remote areas.

Prototype of hybrid PVT system  

 Parameters:

  • Dimentions – 1 x 0.9 m;
  • Output electric (photovoltaic) power – 60 W;
  • Thermal output – 62 liter water per day at 50 0C.

It is possible to design and develop different cost-effective hybrid Photovoltaic and thermal systems in accordance with the needs.
